DEGREE APOSTILLE PROCESS IN SOUTH AFRICA

As the documents submitted to secure a contract and work visa can never be retrieved we advise all applicants apostille a copy of their degree certificate and not the original document. DIRCO is unable to apostille the copy of your degree certificate unless it is accompanied by a Status of University Letter from the Department of Higher Education & Training (DHET) in Pretoria. For an example of this letter please click this link.

HOW TO APPLY

DEGREE CERTIFICATE/S  :  HOW TO GET AN APOSTILLE IN SOUTH AFRICA

To get a Status of University Letter (sample) you will need to send your original degree certificate along with a photocopy of the degree.

Please note that DHET will not generate the Status of University Letter if you do not include the original degree certificate. Please ensure your original degree is well packaged with protective card to ensure that it does not get damaged in transit.

Please avoid using the SA Post Office - only use a reputable courier company to transport these valuable documents

If you live in Gauteng you can visit the DHET and then take the copy of your degree to DIRCO in person with the Status of University Letter to be apostilled.

Alternatively, we advise you use DOCS4EXPATS who can do the entire process for you and send the completed documents directly to TeachKorea.

APOSTILLES

MONEY MATTERS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS?

Unlike the western recruitment model Korea does not have a set "cut-off" date, rather they have a set “opening date”. The opening date for the Spring EPIK Intake is traditionally between 1 & 7 October and the Fall Intake between 1 & 7 April each year.

From this date they process, interview & select candidates as the applications arrive and they continue to accept new applications until they have hired enough people to fill the intake. Once the intake has been filled they simply stop taking further applications.

For this reason it is always better to submit your application as soon as you possibly can to avoid disappointment.
