EPIK Eligibility
Candidates need to be a native or near native English Speaker, in good health with no criminal record who has attended an English medium schools from Grade 7 through Grade 12 in one of the 7 Designated Nations (or an accredited International School) and hold a bachelors degree and travel on a passport from one of the 7 Designated Nations.
The maximum age is 62. Candidates must have no criminal record or any chronic or communicable disease. You do need to be the kind of person who approaches the difficulties of adjusting to life in a foreign environment and new workplace as an exciting and challenging adventure. When faced with problems you need to be a problem solver.

Qualifications
Candidates must hold a 3 or 4 year bachelors degree awarded by an accredited university located in one of the 7 Designated Nations. Due to the long delays authenticating degrees at SAQA & acquiring the apostille at DIRCO you will need to attend your graduation ceremony at least 6 months before the EPIK Intake you are aiming to join.
If the degree is a Bachelors of Education, or the candidate has completed a PGCE or a Masters Degree in Education then they meet the qualification requirements.
Candidates who have a bachelors degree but do not hold a B.Ed, PGCE or Masters in Education are required to complete a TEFL, TESOL or CELTA training with a certified 100hrs or longer duration. The 100hrs must be clearly stated on the certificate or in supporting documentation from the training institute.
Afrikaans/French
University graduates who schooled in South Africa or Canada at Afrikaans medium or French medium schools from Grade 7 to Grade 12 are not eligible for the EPIK program.
Korean citizens who have received their education in one of the 7 Designated Nations from where applicants are accepted or at accredited international schools beginning from the 7th grade/year and through university are eligible to apply to the EPIK Program.. Transcripts and proof of enrolment from these schools will be necessary.
